Aman Asif is an interdisciplinary designer and researcher interested in sustainable design practices that support socio-ecological systems. She received her Master’s degree in Creative Sustainability from Aalto University (Finland), with a minor in ChemArts. She has taught design at universities in Pakistan, including Beaconhouse National University and the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the Estonian Academy of Arts, working at the intersection of art, science, and environmental practices. Her research explores how design can become a way of thinking and sensing with more-than-human worlds, with a particular focus on algae, microbes, and Baltic Sea ecologies. Aman is also deeply passionate about making biomaterial research and education accessible in Pakistan.
