A SERIES OF SUBJECTIVE MAPPING

City in Transition
Lahore's Identity is dependent on the past as much as it's present. The city is constantly changing.                  Even if it's contours don't look very different. And when it takes on dramatic new forms as part of development, the measure of it's success is often seen in the degree to which it maintains it's essence.

Mall for sale
Pop art is a movement that is characterized by images of consumerism and mass culture, as a reaction against the status quo. This is a quirky satirical map (of the mall road Lahore) in response to the affects of commercialism. Creating a world where money making is prioritized and historical places like museums and institutes become obsolete

Cubism is a movement that is characterized by the ability to view multiple perspectives at the same time. This re-arranged map of the mall that places areas that original belong to a different location next to each other creating a unique dynamic between the new proximity and distance of locations, questioning how we tend to structure our cities, and what unnoticed laws and biases are behind the design of cities.

This map is part of a short comic illustrated by the designer on the city of Lahore.

A fictional map for a fictional country
The map is for an underground organization that secretly works below the radar, in attempts to hide from the increasing surveillance and control by the government. We were asked to bring pictures of 5 objects that we would like to take with us into the future. I decided to turn the mood board into a map  and those objects would then serve as a code of words or secret symbols for the key hideout places in our organization. e.g. tea bag became a meeting place, a fluffy companion became the home base, and the underwear became our projects locations.
