Where the light rests

I conducted material tests using Cladophora and eelgrass collected from the Tallinn coast. These experiments examined how algal matter and dried eelgrass can be layered or transformed into surfaces that shielded the Spirulina in the jar.
Eelgrass was crocheted in a pattern similar to the seaweed yarn, while Cladophora was attached to a sheer muslin cloth using couching stitches.
Working with unprocessed organic matter allowed the cover intended for the spirulina jar to function as a responsive skin changing through the materials own cycles of drying and decay and filtering the light as the materials morphed over time.
